I was born in 1983, an accident child to two loving parents. I grew up all over the bay area, hopping between a ranch, a once-haunted-house, and a gated community. My parents liked to balance our suburbia life with outings in the jungles of Belize with SURVIVOR style adventures where we slept with bugs, woke up to howler monkeys, showered in the river, and became fanatic environmentalists.
My high school years fulfilled my status quo of geekdom, and my claim to fame was my 2 seconds of face time when I marched in the Rose Bowl Parade holding a rifle as part of the colorguard. College took me to Westmont in Santa Barbara where I pursued my BA in Business/Economics, galloped around Australia and New Zealand studying art, and dedicated my life to following Christ as I prayed for a deeper understanding of love.
Upon graduation I took the road less traveled (or at least in my mind) and diverged off the corporate route and onto the ministry path. I dabbled in marketing for the Hawaiian Island Ministries Conference, and then spent the next year and a half working with High School Students at a church, where my addiction to coffee really kicked in as my life became a series of coffee dates and bible studies. My summers were spent on Lake Shasta with 21 Houseboats, 260 High School Students, 60 Staff, and an average of 5 hospital runs.
My prayer during this time became a simple one – that the things that broke God’s heart would break mine. I discovered my love for children at risk, and my hunger to serve them.
I came to Fuller.
I’m currently pursuing my Masters in CrossCultural Studies with my concentration in Children at Risk, and have a passion to end human trafficking. In 2008 I came on board with The SOLD Project as their executive director.
I’m obsessed with books, dry cappucinos, art, people, travel, running, thinking outside the box and making it happen, and am in love with my amazing husband.
